28th, August 2022 ICAS Mysore Chapter ??? Dr.B.V.Raman Memorial lecture
ICAS Mysore chapter has organized a lecture on ???Astrology Through the Prism of Ayurveda ??? by Dr. Soumya Kumar as a part of Dr. B.V Raman Memorial Lecture on the auspicious occasion of Dr. B.V Raman Jayanti on 28th August 2022, at Mysuru.
Dr. Soumya Kumar began his lecture with the statement of Dr.Raman, ??? The fundamental purpose of medical astrology is to aid a physician in discovering what diseases would be produced under different planetary dispositions and the duration of such diseases. When properly applied, astrology would quickly determine the seat of diseases.???
He introduced Ayurveda through the definitions of swastha, aswastha, pathya, apathya, Tridoshas - Vaata, Pitta and Kapha. Quoting from classical Ayurveda books by Charaka, Sushrutha and from Veera Simhavalokana, he integrated it with Astrology using Vaata, Pitta and Kapha nature of planets and signs to identify the nature of disease in the body. He emphasized on Graha Sheeladhyaya and Raashi Sheeladhyaya from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra which gives the characteristics of planets and signs.
He illustrated how the significations of planets, signs and principles of Ayurveda can be fruitfully used with many example charts related to common problems diseases like Diabetes, vision problems (blindness, weak eyesight, cloud blindness etc), apasmara (epilepsy), deafness etc. using karakas and their dispositions in a horoscope, and showed how diseases can be timed accurately using vimshottari dasha system.
The program started with Sri Ganesha Stuti, rendered by the faculty members of the Mysuru Chapter: Smt. Sridevi, Smt. Sujata Joshi, Smt. Nirmala and Dr. Sarvamangala followed by the lighting of Lamp.
Sri Subrahmanya Tantri, Chairman, ICAS, Mysuru welcomed the gathering and Dr. Soumya Kumar was introduced to the participants by Sri Ravindra Bhat ??? Secretary, ICAS, Mysore.
Senior Faculty from ICAS, Mysore Sri Jayasheela Bhat, Jyotishya Vaachaspathi and Dr. Soumyakumar were felicitated on this occasion. The program was concluded with a Vote of Thanks rendered by Sri Mohan Babu.

In memory of the contribution of Shri M.N.Kedar and Justice S.N.Kapoor, ICAS Noida Chapter has organised ???Patron Memorial Series 2022??? on 18th June 2022, 19th June 2022, 26th June 2022, 2nd July 2022 and 3rd July 2022. Series of astrological activities were held keeping the spirit alive of Astrological Learnings as envisaged by the patron of the chapter.,
The Patron Memorial Series commenced on 18th June 2022 with a technical session on various Facets of Nakshatras by Prof. A. B. Shukla, Hon National President, ICAS.
Dr Somya Kumar, Hon. National Vice President of ICAS had all enthralled as he connected the Nakshatras to Navamshas. This was great learning for beginners as well as advanced learners.
Brig. S.C. Sharma delivered a technical topic on the Ranking of Nakshatras. which had insight into nakshatras and their application for predictions, a topic very close to the heart of Justice S. N. Kapoor.
The Second-day sessions commenced on 19th June 2022 with the topic of Nakshatra Anga by Smt. Anita Narayan, Hon. National Vice President, ICAS.
A presentation followed by Sh. Sunil Sharma, Chapter Chairman, ICAS Delhi V Chapter, on the topic Nakshatras of the Planet Venus. He presented his topic supported by examples.
Dr. Chandrashekhar Sharma shared his experience with the Nakshatra-based Udu Dasha and its importance in predictions.
The technical session was concluded with a technical session by Sh. Vishwanath Holla, Registrar of Examinations, ICAS on the topic Secrets of Nakshatras. He delved deep into some hidden secrets of nakshatras and came out with some unknown but valuable concepts.
The series progressed on to more technical sessions on 26th June 2022 with a prayer by Pandit Pramendra Chaturvedi, Chapter Chairman, ICAS Gwalior Chapter.
Shri Kamlesh Gupta, Chapter Chairman of ICAS Kanpur II Chapter presented an interesting paper on the Placement of Grahas in a Nakshatra.
It was followed by Session on Moon???s Nakshatras by Smt. Sarita, Senior Faculty member, ICAS Chennai Chapter. She covered the details of Nakshatras ruled by Moon.
Pandit Pramendra connected Mythology and Muhurta Parameters of Nakshatras during his technical session.
Dr. Vani Vinod, Deputy Controller of Examinations, ICAS spoke on the topic of Rahu Nakshatras. Her session was highlighted with predictive insights on Rahu Nakshatras.
There was an interesting session by Shri Hitesh Sharma, Chapter Chairman, ICAS Bangalore III Chapter. He outlined the fact that the concept of Nakshatras is of Vedic Astrology and not from other astrology as claimed by many. He presented a comparative study between Vedic Astrology and Babylonian, Greek and Chinese Astrology in support of the same.
The technical sessions of the day concluded with a presentation by Dr. Anjaneyulu, Hon. Senior National Vice President highlighted the importance of Nakshatra and their significance in marriage matching, an important part of Jyotish.
The series progressed on 2nd July 2022 with a prayer.
Shri Brijendra Mishra, a Senior Faculty member of the ICAS Prayagraj Chapter shared his deep understanding of the subject with the topic Role of Nakshatras in Mundane Astrology. He presented several chakras to explain the concepts.
Hon. National Vice President of ICAS Shri Rangachari on the Trigunas of the two stalwarts Justice Kapoor and Kedar sir, by quoting many shlokas from the Bhagwat Geeta.
Shri Ramesh Chintak mesmerised the attendees by sharing his deep knowledge of Remedial measures of various Nakshatras.
The session came to end with the topic of Transit aspects of Nakshatras by Dr. Suresh Chandra Mishra.
The last day of the series started on 3rd July 2022. It was witnessed by a series of activities involving students in line with the thoughts of patrons Shri S.N. Kedar and Justice S.N.Kapoor to encourage students in presenting their papers. A group discussion was organised for the students of different levels of proficiency.
The activities started with the objective test as a qualifier for the final group discussion. The 6 top-scoring participants were shortlisted for Group discussion under different categories.
Jyotish Shiksharthi Category for Jyotish Praveena level students was given the topic Whether Astrology is a Science or an Art? to discuss.
Jyotish Kaushalya Category for Jyotish Visharada level students, the topic for discussion was What is the relevance of Muhurta in the life of a Native?
Jyotish Naipunya Category contestants comprising those who completed Visharada were provided with a horoscope delineating. The participants were asked to give a brief on personality and what would have happened in the past 2 years of native based on horoscope.
The faculties and office bearers of ICAS supported the event with support as moderators and judges also provided valuable feedback. The session impressed the audience. The winners of the above group discussions were awarded.
The series was concluded with an address by Shri Rangachari K, Hon. National Vice President and vote of thanks by Shri Pradeep Chaturvedi.
The entire team of the Noida Chapter under the guidance of Shri Pradeep Chaturvedi, Hon. National Vice President, ICAS, and Brig. S C Sharma worked as a team to bring out this program dedicated to Patrons.
12th June 2022 New ICAS center at Indiranagar, Bangalore.The new ICAS center at Bangalore (Indiranagar) has just been started to cater to the needs of aspirants wishing to learn astrology from ICAS in the eastern part of Bangalore.
It will be functioning from the semester commencing in July 2022. It will be conducting, in due course of time, all courses of ICAS in Astrology, Palmistry and Vaastu as per the ICAS curriculum.

National Secretary 24th April 2022 Bangalore Chapter II - "Phalaprada 2022" Annual convocation - Reported on page no 55 and 56 of the July 2022 issue of Modern Astrology Magazine.
The annual event to distribute certificates to the students successful in the examinations conducted by the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS) of Chapter Il took place at the Conference Hall, MES College of Commerce and Science, Bangalore on April 24, 2022.
Chief Guest Mrs.Gayatri Devi Vasudev, Editor MODERN ASTROLOGY and Senior Vice President, ICAS highlighted to the audience, especially the freshers, the vision and achievement of the ICAS Founder Dr.B.V.Raman. She pointed out his greatest achievement was not so much the brilliance of his forecasts bearing on mundane affairs such as the -course and termination of World War Two, Indian Independence and the deaths of Hitler, Stalin. Gandhiji and other mundane events but the demystification of Jyotisha presenting it as an academic science with its own methodology, techniques of data preparation and models of prediction. Mrs Gayatri Devi Vasudev also spoke on the definition of Jyotisha and the content of its body while also emphasizing the responsibility of the astrology community to society.
Earlier, the meeting commenced with an invocation followed by the Chapter Chairperson Dr.Sree Srivatsa welcoming the gathering. This was followed by paying tributes to the late Justice S.N. Kapoor, former National President ICAS and the late Mr.N.N.Murthy, Senior Faculty, Chapter III.
Mr.Narasimha Alse, National Vice president, ICAS, presiding over the event said Jyotisha had survived only because of its scientific nature. He also shared some predictive tips with the audience drawn from his experience over 4 decades.
A highlight of the proceedings was the conferring of the title Jyotish Kovid by the ICAS to Dr.Sree Srivatsa, Mr.Umesh K. Mehendale, Seshadri Varanasi, B.V.K.Samit Krishna and Ms.Megha Mehendale for their contribution to the cause of Jyotisha. This was preceded by Mrs.Gayatri Devi Vasudev and Mr.Narasimha Alse distributing certificates to the students who had successfully completed the different courses offered by ICAS. [Report by Dr.Sree Srivatsa] 17th April 2022 Bangalore I Chapter - Convocation 2022 & Inauguration of "Sri Seshadri Memorial Library" - Reported on page no 55 and 56 of the July 2022 issue of Modern Astrology Magazine.
Bangalore Chapter I of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS) carried the vision of its Founder Dr.B.V.Raman further by setting up a library "Sri A.Seshadri Memorial Library" for books on astrology and allied subjects under the initiative of the dynamic National Secretary Dr.Revathi Vee Kumar. The occasion on April 17, 2022, also saw the students successful in ICAS examinations receive their certificates.
Guests included MODERN ASTROLOGY Editor and ICAS National Senior Vice President Mrs.Gayatri Devi Vasudev, Vice President Mr.Narasimha Alse, National Secretary Dr.Revathi Vee Kumar, National Treasurer .Mr.Pradeep Y. Gowda, Registrar Mr. Vishwanath Holla. Chapter II Chairperson Dr.Sree Srivatsa, Chapter I Chairman Mr.R.Swaminathan and Chapter Ill Chairman Hitesh Sharma.
Mrs. Gayatri Devi Vasudev, in her Convocation address, spoke on the antiquity of the origins of Jyotisha dating way back to the Srimad Ramayana and Mahabharata periods moving on to the definition of astrological terms and the blasting criticism against Jyotisha coming from critics from a point of ignorance of even the basis of astrology. Highlighting Dr.Raman's work in putting astrology on the World map, she concluded with a brief reference to his crusade for Jyotisha and his efforts to present it as an academic science.
Earlier, after a soulful rendering of the Invocation by Ms.Srilakshmi of Chapter I, Mr. Swaminathan, Chapter chairman of Bangalore Chapter I welcomed the gathering. This Was followed by a brief narration Of the life of the late Mr.Seshadri in whose name the library stands by Chapter 1 treasurer Mr.S.Diwakar.
Mr.Muralidhar, brother of the late Mr.Seshadri, for having donated about 4000 books to the Library, Mrs.Jayanti A.S., Senior Faculty, Chapter l, for organizing and classifying the books and Mr. Harikrishna of Chapter I for providing space in his Apartment Complex were honored on the occasion.
Mr.Narasimha Alse, in his inaugural address, spoke on the importance of setting up a library specifically for the study and research in Jyotisha and expressed his happiness over it.
This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the students successful in the ICAS courses by Mrs.Gayatri Devi Vasudev, Mr.Narashmha Alse, Dr.Revathi Vee Kumar and Mr. Vishwanath Holla. The afternoon session saw technical papers being presented. Dr.Revathi Kumar speaking on Dawn of Fortune and Nadi Principles explained the different types of Bhagva or fortune and the role of Venus and Jupiter in triggering it as also as Saturn's in it. Each of the concepts was explained in detail with illustrations.
The next to speak was Mr.Pradeep Y. Gowda on the subject Strength of the Ascendant and Longevity wherein he explained With the help of examples of how the Ascendant in a cuspal degree affects longevity.
Mr.Praveen Nagraj, Senior Faculty, Chapter III took up the rather tough topic of Conditional Dasas wherein he explained the conditions under Which specific Dasas needed to be taken up, illustrating the Shasthihayani Dasa with Swami Vivekananda chart.
Dr.Padmaja C.S.Senior Faculty, Chapter presented the novel topic GPS Positioning System in which she introduced the concept of the five-fold Pranas constituting the life force and why Jupiter was known as Karaka covering the 12 houses.
The organizational details were ably taken care of by Mr.Sudarshan K.T. and his team comprising Of Mrs. Tanuja Manjunath, Mrs.Shoba and Mr.Binesh Kumar. The event came to a close with a vote of thanks by Chapter Secretary Mr.Keshav Kaushik. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. M Anjaneyulu, Controller of Examinations, ICAS, Shir Gopalakrishna V, National Vice President, ICAS, Shri V E Rajendran, Additional Controller of Examinations, ICAS, Dr. Vani Vinod, Asst. Controller of Examinations and Chapter Chairman, Shri M Ram Prasad, IFS (Retd), Nadi Specialist and Palmist and T Kedarnath, Nadi Specialist.
During her welcoming address, Dr. Vani Vinod, shared the path of growth of the Chapter since the second half of 2017 when the chapter was newly started. She also expressed her delight for the chapter being the first batch of Nadi Praveena at ICAS.
During his keynote presentation, Shri Gopala Krishna, Hon National Vice President, briefed the audience about the achievements of ICAS in the field of Astrology and allied courses. The following speakers presented their papers on the following topics: 1. Astronomy relevant to Astrology by Dr Anjaneyulu 2. Ashtaka Varga Principles by Shri V E Rajendran 3. Marriage Compatibility beyond Kootas by Shri Prasad Ede 4. Palmistry Sutras by Shri T Kedarnath 5. Nimittas and Karakatwas by Shri Ram Prasad, IFS (Retd) The programme also witnessed the performance of light music, Dance, Veena recital, Skit on Astrology by the Faculty and the students of the Chapter. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Shri Rana Dutta, Chapter Secretary.
25th December 2022. All ICAS Secunderabad Chapters - Annual Day CelebrationAll Secunderabad Chapters have jointly organised Annual Day Celebrations on Saturday, 25.12.2021. The programme commenced at 3:00 p.m. with the lighting of the lamp by Shri Dr M Anjaneyulu, Hon. Controller of Examinations, Shri V Gopala Krishna, National Vice President, Shri Jeyram, Former National Vice President, Shri M Ram Prasad, IFS (Retd), Nadi Specialist, Shri Ravindran (Patron) In his inaugural address Dr Anjaneyulu, IDAS, Hon. Controller of Examinations has given details of the background of the formation of ICAS, its objectives, organisation structure, activities and courses held by ICAS. Then all Chapter chairman (Dr Ramachander, Shri Thakur, Shri Subash babu, Shri Subash Pande, Dr Vani Vinod, Smt ShashiRaj Mehta, Shri Dhavala Srinivas, and Dr Surya Kanthi) jointly honoured Shri Gopal Krishna, Hon. National Vice President HNVP, along with his spouse for his service to ICAS for the past 28 years. His contribution and guidance to the growth of ICAS Secunderabad chapters were acknowledged.
